I still got all nostalgic and misty eyed when they popped up in the story. Yeah, yeah, I know what I just said up above. Seeing the Rock Chicks and Hot Guys before the were Rock Chicks and Hot Guys.She supposedly landed on the honor roll in high school, so she’s not uneducated, so why on god’s green earth would she say ‘I don’t got it in me.’? WHY? In the grand scheme of 50K+ words, it’s not a lot, but I did worry she might have needed to go see her gyno. Maybe it’s because she needed Marcus’s strength and love to become the crazy Daisy we met before. In all the other Rock Chick books Daisy is larger than life & a force to be reckoned with, but (even with what happened to her) she didn’t really own who she is in this book. Daisy got down on herself a little too much.
Especially when it was thrown in with Daisy’s lamentations about the state of her life. The near misses with the Rock Chicks – at first I thought, “Aww…Rock Chicks!” but it also felt a little gimmicky, as if it was a bone we got tossed.I get it, he’s basically the original Hot Guy, but it kind of annoyed me he didn’t have any time for her until he absolutely had to have time for her. Marcus decided Daisy was going to be his, but had other things to do at the time. There was very little set up between Daisy and Marcus before Daisy’s attack – like none.There was so much to love and a few things to be annoyed by.
